The Plant Fayre came about from Darren of Grylls Plants who had been growing and selling a few extra plants for Prickles and Paws over the last few years. Grylls Plants had a crazy idea of forming a plant fayre of local growers to raise much needed funds for Prickles and Paws. Seven months later, on Sunday 12th of May 2024 saw our first ever Clay Country Plant Fayre. Raising £624 for Prickles and Paws. The Plant fayre was a resounding success and over the summer of 2024 it was decided to make our plant fayre an annual event.
In 2025 we raised £1,072, we hope to beat that in 2026.
Clay Country Plant Fayre returns in 2026 with increased capacity inside and out, we will have 30 stalls this year instead of 18, we will also have our big Raffle which will be drawn on the day.
We will have stalls inside the hall and outside on the grass to the side of the building, please be careful on the grass as in places it is uneven (the worst dip areas will be roped/coned off).
Our book stall will be there again this year, lots of nice books for a small donation of a £1 per book or 5 for £3.
There will be areas to sit down in the hall and there are some tables outside the Hall which could be used.
We will be running our own Prickly Friends Cafe again this year, selling cream teas, pasties both meat & cheese/onion, sausage rolls, egg mayonnaise rolls, cheese rolls, ham rolls, lots of different homemade cakes, tea normal/decaff/mint, coffee normal/decaff and orange/cherries&berries juice.
Please be aware different stall holders accepts different payments such as cash/card/paypal/bacs so please ensure you bring all forms of payments as we would not like you to miss out on buying something you really want.
The raffle is cash only, the book stall is cash only, we would prefer cash in the cafe but if you need to pay by card we can arrange it.
*** We have been made aware of counterfeit £20 notes going around, all our Stallholders have been informed and are aware of what to look out for. Please be aware if you try to use one it will be confiscated and the Police will be informed***

Explore The Future of Lithium Production with Imerys British Lithium
Launched in 2023, Imerys British Lithium (IBL) combines the expertise and resources of both Imerys and British Lithium.
As a worldwide supplier of minerals for a variety of industries including ceramics, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, Imerys is one of Cornwall’s largest employers and owns the land where a significant lithium deposit has been found.
British Lithium was established in 2017 by highly experienced mining professionals who, since then, have been researching and developing newly patented methods of extracting lithium and producing lithium carbonate here in Cornwall.
An operational pilot plant has been up and running research and development work near Roche since 2022, and this is already producing battery quality lithium carbonate.
Ultimately, we aim to produce around 21,000 tonnes of high quality lithium carbonate every year, before the end of the decade, over the next 30 years.
Community Engagement
We are based in Roche, Cornwall. The local community is very important to us and we are always keen to engage with people, groups and organisations who are interested in what we do and want to find out more.
We creating more than 350 jobs once we are operational. Our indirect supply chain is likely to provide employment for many more, plus support for the local and wider Cornish economy.
We know how lucky we are to be based in a beautiful part of the UK and are very grateful for the community’s support as we move towards production of much-needed battery grade lithium. Cornwall enjoys a global reputation for its mining heritage and is now poised to be the first place in Europe to supply an element vital to our renewable technology future.
